Your Tour Itinerary

Day 1 — South Coast Explorer

Over the next two days, we journey along Iceland’s stunning South Coast, home to some of the country’s most iconic landscapes. The adventure begins with visits to Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss—two spectacular waterfalls fed by glacial meltwater, each offering unforgettable photo opportunities.

As we continue east, we pass through Skaftafell Nature Reserve, surrounded by sweeping glacier views and Iceland’s highest peaks within Vatnajökull National Park. The day concludes at one of the South Coast’s most breathtaking locations: Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where massive icebergs drift peacefully across the water. With a bit of luck, you may spot seals swimming nearby or see glittering ice fragments scattered along Diamond Beach.

Our carefully selected accommodation places you right in the heart of southeast Iceland’s natural beauty, allowing you to unwind and fully enjoy the surroundings.

Typical accommodation:

Hótel Glacier Lagoon, Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon, Magma Hotel or similar.

Day 2 — Glacier Adventures in Vatnajökull National Park

Our second day brings even more adventure and unforgettable scenery. We begin by stepping onto an outlet glacier of the vast Vatnajökull ice cap for a guided glacier hike designed especially for first-timers. This customizable experience offers incredible views of the dramatic icefall on Falljökull, along with fascinating insights into this constantly changing landscape.

After our time on the ice, we continue exploring more of the South Coast’s highlights. We’ll stop in the charming seaside village of Vík before visiting the famous Reynisfjara Beach, known for its striking basalt columns and powerful Atlantic waves crashing onto the black sand shore.

It’s a day filled with contrast—ice, ocean, mountains, and dramatic coastlines—showcasing Iceland at its most dynamic.

Typical accommodation:
Skálakot Manor, Hotel UMI, or similar.

Day 3 — Volcanic Life of the Westman Islands

After breakfast, we set our sights offshore and travel toward the harbour at Landeyjahöfn. Before boarding the ferry, we make a stop at a hidden black sand beach nearby—an often-overlooked stretch of coastline where volcanic sand, crashing waves, and wide-open views create a beautifully raw setting.

From here, a short ferry ride brings us to the remote and fascinating Westman Islands. Rising dramatically from the Atlantic, these islands tell one of Iceland’s most powerful modern stories of nature and resilience.

Upon arrival on Heimaey, we begin our exploration with a visit to the SEA LIFE Trust Beluga Whale Sanctuary, home to rescued beluga whales living in a natural sea bay. This meaningful stop offers insight into marine conservation and the unique wildlife of the region.

We then continue exploring the island’s dramatic coastline, cliffs, and viewpoints, where puffins nest in vast numbers during summer and seals and whales are often spotted offshore. On clear days, we may even glimpse Surtsey, Iceland’s youngest island and a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Back on land, we pause for a relaxed lunch at one of our favourite local restaurants, where fresh island ingredients are reimagined with a modern Nordic touch. In the afternoon, those who wish can hike up Eldfell, the volcano that erupted without warning in 1973 and reshaped the island forever. From the summit, you’ll overlook lava fields that once buried homes, hear firsthand accounts of the evacuation, and see how the eruption expanded the island itself—one of the most striking examples of Iceland’s living geology.

In the late afternoon, we return by ferry to the mainland and make our way back to our South Coast accommodation, where a peaceful evening and well-earned rest await.

Typical accommodation:
Skálakot Manor, Hotel UMI, or similar.

Day 4 — Exploring the Golden Circle

On the final day of your journey, we explore Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle—an ideal way to bring your summer adventure to a close. We begin at the powerful Gullfoss, where the Hvítá River plunges into a dramatic canyon, often creating misty rainbows on sunny days. From here, we continue to the geothermal area of Strokkur and Geysir, where erupting hot springs and steaming vents showcase Iceland’s volcanic energy.

Midday, we stop for a unique farm-to-table lunch at Friðheimar, dining inside a working tomato greenhouse surrounded by lush greenery. Their signature tomato soup and homemade specialties offer a memorable taste of Icelandic hospitality.

In the afternoon, we visit the UNESCO-listed Þingvellir National Park, where history and geology meet. Here, you’ll walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates while learning about Iceland’s early parliament and cultural heritage.

To conclude your journey, you may choose between a relaxing soak at the Blue Lagoon or returning to Reykjavík/

From here, you can choose:

• return to Reykjavík in the afternoon, or
• continue to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing finale and optional overnight stay.
